I wanted to create a custom report which would represent the data in following manner:

First dimension - campaign id
Second dimension - IP address
Measure - Visits

CAMPAING ID &IP ------------------- VISITS
1. CampaignId1
10.16.5.9 ------------------504
169.23.34.5-------------------230
23.3.45.3------------------- 75
12.4.23.24------------------ 548

2. CampaignId2
71.16.5.9------------------12
16.23.34.5------------------348
12.3.45.3------------------777
2.7.23.24------------------84

Here the first dimension is campaign id which i have. The second dimension i need is the IP address. What column should I select as the secondary dimension for the IP address?

I know that the TOP Visitor report captures IP address related data for us already. Is there a way I could import this IP address column info into my secondary dimension?

Thanks in advance.

I used Visitor as the secondary dimension and got a report that looks very much like the one i wanted above.... (Except that along with the IP address i can also see the complete cookie value..)

Is this the right approach??

Thanks.

Chris,

That was good use of Regular expression though...Shows that there are cool ways in which we can get the custom reports we want.

The reason why we need IP addresses is that these IP correspond to the agents who place orders for us. In turn we can go ahead and get a n estimate on the number of orders and the corresponding commission we could be paying them.

These visit estimates are approximately linear to the statistical regression estimates which --> one may use for marketing purposes based on historical data.

Another modification:

I got the following

Campaign ID----------------------Visits
+IP-22.22.222.222------------------400
IP-33.33.333.333------------------230
IP-44.44.444.444------------------429

The measure that I am trying to use now is the order success page. That is the number of orders that were successfully placed (hit to /OrderSuccess.cfm only then show it in the report.)

How should I go about this? Should I have a measure for Hits/Visits and then create a filter for URL based on */OrdersSuccess.cfm ?

That is I should have:
Campaign ID----------------------Order Success
+IP-22.22.222.222------------------4
IP-33.33.333.333------------------2
IP-44.44.444.444------------------13

Thanks in advance.

Create a measure, filter for the URL and add it to your custom report!

Michael could you please explain a little more...

I have never created a custom measure. I am a bit confused as to what values should I put in for the 'What to Measure' and 'When to Measure' tabs.

I have created a custom filter on URL where URL is Equal To */OrdersSuccess.cfm

This is a bit urgent..
Thanks in advance.

http://www.webtrendsoutsider.c...as-a-measure-column/ should help you, in their example it is a job application. You just need to change the URL Wink
