Are offsite links supposed to show up in the standard pages report? They are in ours and in searching this forum it seems that may be the norm. But shouldn't they be excluded from the pages report and only show up on exit pages or other such reports?

If that is the norm, has anyone figured a way to filter them from the pages report? I'm thinking they need to be filtered out of the profile to be excluded from the pages report, is that correct?
Thanks
R

If you created the javascript via the tagbuilder (http://tagbuilder.webtrends.com), then uncheck the "track offsite-links". Otherwise you need to disable the javascript-code in your tracking-code.

I think the webtrends support can help you, if you need any help for these steps.

Why exclude this useful information?

Your site has content. It has links to other pages on your site and pages offsite. Don't you want to know about the usefulness of these offsite links on your site?

Leaving them in also improves the accuracy of data on the activity of your site content.

Vie wthe report as what people did on your site and not like the pages served by your web server.

If you want, make 2 custom reports - one for on site pages and one for offsite links

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not questioning the usefulness of this data, just were it is reported. It seems odd to me to include it as overall activity for a site. This leaves two options filter it out altogether by updating the SDC tagging, or create custom reports to include/exclude the offsite data.

Thanks

Hi Rob,

If you want to remove the offsite links from your pages report try to create DL=1(old) or 24(tagbuilder) filter(exlude) and specify all other links apart from your internal links to be excluded. e.g.
If your website is abc.com then: use filter:

Exclude DL=1 or 24 and url not equal to regular expression *abc.com*

I have never tried this but hope it works for you.

Thanks,
Anna B

We have two reports, pages report includes WT.dl = 0 and the other report excludes WT.dl = 0.

Hi Shawn,

Adding DL=0 gives only page views data and removing that gives all links and button data.

Please use the attachment to put filter on the profiles for removing or adding desired records in reports.

Thanks,
Anna B
