I sent the same ticket to webtrends, but Im curious to know if anyone has experienced this problem, and has experience fixing it.

Ive encountered this problem before, and didnt think much of it because I assumed I may have accidentally caused it, but it has happened 3 times in the past 24 hours and I know I am not to blame.

Most of our profiles get analyzed 4 days a week, Monday-Thursday. This is because they have to be manually moved into a folder to get scrubbed and zipped which then automatically gets moved to the appropriate processing folder. The SDC files dont get zipped, but they get moved nonetheless. The logs are stored first by site & then by month. Each of these months for each site have their own data source.

The problem is that when I looked at a few of my profiles, I only had data from a small window (ranging from 3-14 days for the three profiles that I checked) and all the data that was analyzed before that period was missing. I still had Backup files, so the profiles had not been set to re-analyze data (otherwise there would be no option to roll back).

For example I had been analyzing a site for 3 years with no problems. Today, I looked, and saw that I only had Feb 10-21 data, and everything else before the 10th was missing.

Luckily there were backup files that I could select, so I could roll back to a date that was not missing any data, and analyze from there.

My question is what could be causing this to happen, and how do we make sure that it does not happen again. We have been experiencing random SODH errors which may or may not have anything to do with it.

Any input would be appreciated, but this may be a unique case, so im not sure what to expect.

I've seen some pretty crazy things happen to reports whose report data is stored on a disk out of space. You may want to check the volume that you have your storage folder mounted to.

Same thing has happened with my install. Just to be safe, I added 100GB to my storage drive. I haven't been able to prove what caused the "hole" in the first place. WebTrends Support has not been able to identify a reason other than an admin (me) re-analyzing the data unexpectedly (didn't happen).

Late reply on this i know Smiler But even i have started to see this issue of the data purging and what we are doing is that we are reanalysing the profile. Just restore it to the last available backup and run it.

Let me know if you still see the problem arising. We were also informed by WebTrends that this is a one off issue and every parent child profile will undergo one purge. Previously purged profiles if they loose data then we are in trouble !! Cool
