So ...does this profile already have analyzed report after 9/20/1009?

Yes.Profile has analyzed logs from 9/20/2009 to 10/17/2009. But we want to analyze logs before 9/20/2009 now.

We copied logs back to datasource location of the profile.

You need to reanalyse the profile!

I hav put profile to re-analyze many times but it completes within minutes.

It's not considering logs before 9/20/2009.

Also can anyone please tell me what does below error means:

Error: Profile cannot analyze unless all servers have a valid logfile path or the IgnoreMissingServerLogfiles ini key is set to true.

What "IgnoreMissingServerLogfiles" does and where this file will be located.By setting this key to true will this analyze old log files as well?

Thanks,

Check your datasource if all logfiles are avaliable and then check your profile if you have set any start date.. the IgnoreMissingServerLogfiles is nothing you need..

Start date is set to "From Start of Logfile(s)".

Also I have verified that Datasource has all logfiles.

Can anyone please help me??

Though profile is completing analysis, why it is not considering old logs files which we placed back in the datasource.

Joshi84:

For my understanding so far, WebTrends can't analyze the old log if there're analyzed data after that, and you don't wanna click "re-analyze" to blow away everything and start freshly.

I found these KB to explain "IgnoreMissingServerLogfiles", not sure whether this will help you or not

I would love to find a solution for this. There's got to be a reason.

Can you post the exact definition of your data source? And can you post the filename and path for one of the earlier logs that you want to analyze? Also, are you absolutely sure that the profile is pointed at that data source?

Can you post the event log for one of these new analyses, like you had in your first post? The events that result when you're doing a re-analyze instead of just "analyze"?

My guess: a datasource definition issue.

Have you had any luck with this issue?

If this is a profile you've been using for a while (months or years) then I fear your profile's internal database files are corrupt.

Here's something you might try...

Move all but the first or second log files out out of the folder holding them all.

Restart the Webtrends server. (couldn't hurt to run chkdsk and disk defrag at this time)

When everything comes up, make a copy of the old profile and use the copy to analyze the one or two log files you left in place. If you get a successful run, copy one or a few more log files back to the original folder and analyze the profile.

If this run is successful, continue the process, adding a few files to be analyzed each time. If one of the logfiles is hosed, analyzing them one by one will help you figure it out fast.

Hope this helps or gives you some ideas how to resolve. Please let us know how it goes!

Regards,
MitchellT
